First of all, this article is written because I had a task from an orientation event of my major, Petroleum Engineering.

Actually I have never read this book before even though I have it since I was in junior high. After watching the summary video of this book I realize that this book can give a powerful impact on me and i have started read it yesterday.

This is the summary of the video about the summary of this book, I hope it can give an insight to you about how to be highly effective people.

“MANAGING YOURSELVES”

1. Be Proactive

There are such a lot of things in the world that out of our control such as the family you came from, where are you born, and your family's economic situation. Reactive people are kind of people that usually start to complain about their life, complaining about something that they can not control. Rather than complain about something you can not control and make nothing for yourselves, you had better be a proactive person. Focus on something that you can control. So, you will be able to start to find out the solution to your problem and make yourselves useful.

2. Begin With The End in Mind

Whenever you want to do something bad, I mean something really bad try to think about the end of your life first. What kind of people you want to be remembered by society. Someone who did really bad things or someone who did goods. Whenever you do this, this will be the game-changer in all your life decision.

3. Put The First Things First

Start doing an “Urgent and Important” thing first. Realize what is your kind of “Urgent and Important” thing. So, stop put something sh*t first,
like video games over your health.

“BECOMING EFFECTIVE OF SOCIETY”

4. Start to Think Win-Win

It means start to make a mutualism symbiosis either to your environment or to your social circle. Like, the best winner is the one who can make someone feel their victory too. They are not the ones who make the others feel nothing or even sad of their victory.

5. Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood

https://images.app.goo.gl/PAPb2YtLGq94hMx48

Don't say that the other people don't understand you if you never try to understand them first. Start to do the “Empathetic Listening”, a kind of listening method that you give all of your intentions to other people who talk to you, so you will be able to understand what they mean and moreover you will start to understand what they feel.

6. Synergize

Save your energy to do something by doing it as a team. Do a synergize in every aspect that possibly can be done as a team because you don't need to think all of the stuff by yourself. It will be faster and better than you do it by yourself.

7. Sharpen The Saw

Covey makes an example like it will be better to sharp your saw
for one hour and cut the tree for 15 minutes rather than try to cut the tree within 3 hours with the blunt saw. I think you all understand enough of this example. I guess it will make your activity more efficient.
